Primarily, I'm in the Auto/Truck business and got into the Towing end of things initially, for my own use. When I attend the auctions, in the various
metros, I use a the rollback to transport the vehicles that I purchase. That's how it started and I sort of backed my way into this industry. When one of
my close friends took-up a job as a Svc. Mgr. at one of the local dealerships, we got to talking about their transportation needs and that blossomed into me
purchasing another truck. This seemed to work out pretty nicely and soon found myself needing another...
Long/short. I'm strictly a consent towing company and most of my hauls are for a couple of new car stores as well as a few other accounts and of course,
John Q Public.
Anyway, I'm down to two trucks ( GMC/Chevron rollbacks) and am comfortable with this as it keeps my 2 drivers busy, and we all make a little money in the
process. They're 2 long-time and trusted part of my crew so this helps keep things balanced. Professional image, doing it once and properly, conscientious
about safety...to the point of overkill, is always exercised. They keep the trucks clean, ready-to-go, and best of all, they don't tear things up.
That's worth a LOT to me so they're rewarded for their efforts. Towing hasn't been my main source of income but it's augmented another revenue
stream and has certainly helped when the sales slowed down.
I'm certainly not as experienced as most members here and I have a TON of respect for the ol' hooks. I'm here primarily to learn, and hopefully
share and contribute when possible. Not looking to step on anyone's toes or offend....and hopefully make some friends along the way.
I'm big into drag racing...but it's been SO danged HOT here in So.Texas this summer that I haven't been doing much racing this season. Instead,
I've been chasing redfish and speckled trout in and around the hallowed Bay of Baffin. Trophy-Trout capitol of Texas!
